Masters and Doctoral Programmes in Psychology at Edinburgh

Document Actions

We have a vibrant and expanding research community, led by world-class researchers. Our postgraduate students have access to an unrivalled range of courses in Psychology and many associated departments. Psychology is part of the Postgraduate School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences.

We have an extensive research infrastructure, including several eye trackers, an MRI simulator, human movement tracking systems, and laboratories for general experimentation, and access to advanced resources including molecular genetics laboratories and nearby (f)MRI imaging.

We offer both Masters and Doctoral programmes:

Masters Programmes

Our Masters Programmes lead to an MSc degree. They can be taken as a one-year stand-alone programme, or as the first year of a four-year doctoral programme.

Doctoral Programmes

Our Doctoral Programmes lead to a PhD. They are normally four years long, and consist of a one-year MSc followed by a three-year period of study leading to a PhD.
